Registered Nurse - Acute Care Inpatient

This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Located in the Acute Care Inpatient Nursing Division, the function of this RN is to provide, direct, and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care to a veteran population of varying complexity.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on age-specific components. Assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Communicate and interact appropriately and courteously with internal and external customers. Maintain confidentiality of patient/employee information electronically, verbally and written. Work and function within a safe manner including infection control and operation of equipment. Utilize nursing research, evidence-based practice and literature in daily practice. Provide care appropriate to the biopsychosocial needs of the population served. Hematology/Oncology certification and/or training certificate may be required to meet Veteran care and operational needs of the population on this unit determined by management. All other duties as assigned. NOTE: Practice requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
