This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the education developer/coordinator and training instructor for the CORE, Clinical Track, and Principles of Military Preventive Medicine Course in support of Preventive Medicine Branch and Division of Public Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
- Plans and develops course materials and presents lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises in the area of Public Health and Public Health Nursing to provide knowledge and skills for Army Medical Department Officers.
- Research current scientific literature to ensure that all instructional materials are up to date and accurate which includes rewrites lesson plans as required by changes in doctrine and curriculum development.
- Collaborates with both civilian and military subject matter experts in the Public Health, Infectious Disease, Laboratory Science, and Infection Control to develop and maintain current training programs and courses.
- Develops and revises educational courses, addressing disease control and prevention and health and wellness programs to ensure the educational needs of all levels of students are met.
- Additional responsibilities include scheduling, facilitation, and coordination of the Fundamentals of Occupational Medicine Course and the Preventive Medicine Senior Leaders Course.
