The Registered Nurse (Acute Care) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care within the Nursing Acute Care Unit. NOTE: The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this position.

  • The Registered Nurse (Acute Care) provides competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Other duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. Demonstrates responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Leads and organizes delivery of care to ensure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice Applies nursing expertise to lead improvement, with demonstrated outcomes, beyond the immediate practice setting. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as listed in functional statement.
