The Informatics Registered Nurse (RN) exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications.
- Major duties include, but are not limited to: Develops recommendations and workflow strategies to address and resolve complex issues and problems, providing direction for all key stakeholders. Establishes formal and informal consultative relationships that can also provide professional development and mentorship opportunities, including but not limited to CNIO, CHIO, Managers, OI&T, etc. Leads and supports the use of clinical guidelines, into practice, information system and informatics solutions, and knowledge bases. Leads staff to identify, analyze and address ethical issues that impact patients, caregivers and staff. Models high reliability principles and I CARE values to improve the consistency of care delivery and patient outcomes. Incorporates new knowledge and strategies to initiate change in clinical health informatics and nursing practices if desired outcomes are not achieved. Provides leadership at program or service level in communication, education, and leadership to support comprehension of and adaptation to organizational updates; leveraging project management principles and environmental. Demonstrates expertise in evidence-based practice/research resulting in improved outcomes, and managing EHR resources that contribute to the efficient, cost-effective care and, sharing knowledge. BLS certification is required for this position and can be obtained upon hire. Demonstrates professional communication and conduct. Recognizes and supports Suicide Prevention initiatives. Works collaboratively with all levels of health care professional and support staff to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.
