The Licensed Practical Nurse - Float Primary Care position works at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in the Primary Care Service Live. The position is expected to provide coverage to the Chillicothe VA Medical Center and the affiliated Clinic Based Outpatient Clinics. The LPN is expected to work in collaboration with the registered nurse and/or providers from the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) within their scope of practice, according to policies, training and accepted VA practice.

• Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Initiating, performing, and completing assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations. Appropriately carry out assigned patient care based on the patents' conditions. Selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments. Observe, identify and respond to the patient's needs for care including medication equipment-assisted care and (patient/family education). Prepares and administers prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and performs. treatments according to established policies/procedures. Observes for physical and/or emotional changes in patient's condition from prescribed medication/treatments, promptly and accurately; documenting noted changes, and reporting any deviations from normal to RN or MD/DO. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Recruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized. Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized. Physical Requirements: This position includes a level of physicality normally associated with duties performed by nurses such as direct patient care, and potentially long periods of walking, standing, sitting, moderate lifting, repeated bending, or kneeling. Examples may include but are not limited to: Significant amounts of time standing assisting assigned patients and Utilization of safe patient handling and mobility protocols.
