About the Position: Serves as attending Physician and Subject Matter Expert in Internal Medicine of a Military Treatment Facility (MTF)/Medical Centers (MMC) within an assigned Defense Health Agency (DHA) Market/Network Area. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
- Incumbent provides diagnosis and treatment to active duty and retired military personnel, eligible family members, and civilian personnel presenting with acute episodic or chronic illnesses and complex medical issues.
- Evaluates and interprets laboratory and clinical findings to support diagnostic determinations and ensure the development and implementation of appropriate treatment plans.
- Develops and executes comprehensive treatment strategies; identifies patient needs and conducts functional assessments to determine and implement appropriate clinical services.
- Coordinates referrals to specialty clinics and subspecialists to ensure continuity of care, and initiates urgent interventions including hospitalization when clinically indicated.
- Leads and actively contributes to Directorate and MTF quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and operational effectiveness.
