The Robley Rex VA Medical Center (RRVAMC) in Louisville, KY is recruiting for a full time Physician, Clinical Operations Chief is a senior clinical leader responsible for providing executive oversight, strategic direction, and operational management across the following service areas: Group Practice Management (GPM), Data Analytics, Clinical Health Informatics Office (CHIO), Whole Health, and Clinic Profile Managers (CPM).

• Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Executive Leadership & Strategic Oversight Provides leadership and accountability for Group Practice Management (GPM), Data Analytics, Clinical Health Informatics (CHIO), Whole Health, and Clinic Profile Managers (CPM), ensuring alignment with facility strategic goals and VISN/VA directives. Integrates administrative and clinical functions across assigned areas to enhance efficiency, reduce redundancies, and support a seamless continuum of care. Collaborates with service chiefs to implement data-driven strategic planning initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics to guide operational decisions, productivity management, organizational design, and patient access improvements. Serves as a key contributor to the medical center's strategic and business planning processes, ensuring that assigned programs support organizational readiness, workload forecasting, and resource optimization. 2. Group Practice Management (GPM) Oversees physician practice operations, panel management, and clinic flow optimization. Ensures compliance with national GPM standards, productivity expectations, scheduling practices, and patient access requirements. Partners with clinical leaders to develop provider practice models, staffing projections, and performance measures. 3. Data Analytics & Informatics Integration Directs the Data Analytics team to support facility wide reporting, dashboards, forecasting, and decision support tools. Works collaboratively with CHIO to advance informatics maturity, EHR optimization, safe use of ordering systems, and clinical decision support functions. Guides the development of standardized metrics across all assigned programs to evaluate quality, access, timeliness, patient experience, and performance improvement. Promotes informatics education, technological innovation, and systems-thinking within clinical teams. 4. Clinic Profile Managers (CPM) This position assumes executive responsibility for Clinic Profile Manager (CPM) oversight, a key function documented as essential to clinic setup, profile design, template governance, care-delivery modalities, consult workflows, documentation trends, clinic utilization monitoring, and timely capture of performance measures. CPM-led processes-such as grid design, schedule accuracy, utilization reporting, and workload capture-require aligned physician leadership to ensure that templates and operational workflows appropriately reflect clinical intent and Veteran care needs. Oversees coordination across scheduling infrastructure, provider templates, modality design (face-to-face, virtual, telephone), performance measure monitoring, and compliance with VA Central Office clinic-profile directives. This ensures that scheduling, clinical staffing, workflow design, and access governance function cohesively and consistently across all departments. 6. Clinical Practice (50% FTE) Maintains clinical privileges and provides direct patient care in the incumbent's specialty. Models professional excellence, patient-centered communication, and clinical integrity consistent with VA standards of practice. Serves as a clinical subject matter expert, mentor, and consultant for providers and trainees across the facility. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
