About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This position is working with critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Enter information about the patient's condition, an assessment of the patient's condition and a plan of action to carry out nursing care.
- Recognize life-threatening conditions and perform, or assist in, resuscitation procedures in cardiac or respiratory arrest.
- Observe and document all pertinent data regarding the physical and emotional status of patients.
- Train and assist with training to newly assigned personnel; teach and notify patients of necessary preparation and medication to be administered prior to treatment.
- Promptly assess and takes action to alleviate problems reflected in subtle changes in the patient's condition such as dizziness or slight rise in temperature.
