Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Outpatient (RN) will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in a medical office setting as directed by a physician. The RN is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and consistently practicing CMC’s core values of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, and integrity.
Qualifications:
Education
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ current experience in nursing practice required.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record System preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required.
- Current RN licensure in the state of South Carolina is required or in accordance with the compact state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
- Ensure that quality care is provided to all patients and is responsible for maintaining confidential records of vital statistics and other pertinent data.
- Notify patients of diagnostic test results, ensure that clients receive appropriate follow-up care, and educate patients to assure understanding of physician’s orders effectively.
- Perform duties including but not limited to rooming patients in a timely manner, recording nursing notes, vital signs, weight, etc., and coordinating care within the office team.
- Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families
- Work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
- Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
- Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
- Remain calm and professional in all situations.
