The primary purpose of the Outpatient Primary Care Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) is to provide technically proficient, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse (RN) or provider, supporting safe, efficient clinical operations and contributing to high-quality care within the healthcare team.

  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional This position will be located at NWHCC, PACT 2 (second floor) As an integral part of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), you will demonstrate sound techniques in complex nursing care procedures and basic care of the patient in the Primary Care Clinic setting. You will provide nursing care in a self-directed manner with work accomplished requiring minimal review by the RN in charge and is administratively responsible to the Nurse Manager or designee for the quality and quantity of work performed daily, and i responsible and accountable for his/her individual practice. You will complete a focused patient intake and document appropriately. You must possess excellent communications, interpersonal, customer service skills. In addition to providing clinical support, you will be responsible for actively participating in staff meetings and/or workgroups, clean and prepare exam rooms, assist the physicians with procedures and close open encounters, recognize and appropriately respond to breakage/malfunction or loss of equipment Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm (extended hours may be required due to patient needs), also may include variable shifts. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Telework: Ad-Hoc only.Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
