About the Position: The Nurse (Clinical) provides support to the A. T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir VA, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Assess patient condition based upon observation, examination and/or interview, physician's diagnosis, laboratory findings, age-related issues, and other pertinent information.
- Identify, document, implement, and formulate the patient care plan as determined by the patient's condition.
- Calculate drug dosages and administer intravenous fluids and medications using age-appropriate guidelines.
- Respond to life-saving situations, initiating emergency resuscitation measures, according to pediatric and adult resuscitation protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients and their family members.
