This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Located in the Acute Care Inpatient Nursing Division, the function of this RN is to provide, direct, and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care to a veteran population of varying complexity.
- This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Acute Care Inpatient Nursing Division on 4C. The function of the Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide, direct, and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse veteran population of varying complexity. The Acute Care Inpatient Nursing Division on 4C delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Communicate and interact appropriately and courteously with internal and external customers. Maintain confidentiality of patient/employee information electronically, verbally and written. Work and function within a safe manner including infection control and operation of equipment. Utilize nursing research, evidence-based practice and literature in daily practice. Provide care appropriate to the biopsychosocial needs of the population served. Practice requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). All other duties as assigned.
