This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
- The Marion VA Medical Community Living Center is seeking an License Practical Nurse (LPN). The LPN in this position provides health care services and care management under the supervision or direction of the RN, to a variety of patients with varying degrees of medical problems from minimal to complex issues to include IV, Foley Catheter, Naso and Gastro tube feeding etc. and in a variety of Care Specialties REHAB, Long Term Care and Hospice. The LPN is accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade. Our facility is seeking an individual who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and under the supervision of Charge Nurse or RN Team Leader in a patient centered program. The selected individual should have the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team. He/she carries out the Plan of Care and provides patient care needs assuring quality of care. Provides professional nursing care that includes, but is not limited to: Teamwork with RN and LPN and NA. Patient ADLs. Participation in interdisciplinary team discussions. Performs skilled nursing tasks as ordered by the Medical Providers (i.e., blood draws, injections, dressing changes and wound care). Completes and submits clinical notes. Observes patient for changes in conditions and reports appropriately. Provides education instructions to patients and their designated significant other. Performs other professional nursing duties as assigned and within their scope of practice. This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital. The incumbent may be required to rotate tours and duties during low/high census or complete administrative tasks established by the immediate supervisor.
