This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. - Duties and responsibilities involve serving as the neuropathologist for the VA National PTSD Brain Bank, including overseeing and performing neuropathological workups, tissue distribution, and data management. Duties also include assistance with neuropathological workups for other VA and Boston University based brain banks as well as clinical service obligations on the surgical neuropathology service for the Boston VA Healthcare System. The candidate is expected to engage in academic activities that include clinical and/or basic research (investigator-initiated or collaborative), as well as teaching of medical school students, residents, fellows, and non-Pathology faculty colleagues. Position consists of up to 60% effort dedicated to the PTSD Brain Bank, up to 20% effort for other clinical duties and at least 20% independent research time.
