This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. • The Department of Surgery/Orthopedics at the V.A. Boston Healthcare System (VABHCS) affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH)/Harvard Medical School (HMS), and Boston University (BU) are actively seeking an orthopedic surgeon. Experience and practice in joint arthroplasty, shoulder and upper extremity surgery are required. Candidates should have an outstanding clinical and academic track record and be interested in the education of residents and fellows. Candidates will also be selected based on experience, leadership and skills. Candidates will be eligible for appointment as the Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at HMS or BU. Major Duties Provide comprehensive orthopedic surgical care with emphasis on joint arthroplasty Perform operative and non-operative management including evaluation, surgery, and follow-up. Participate in education of residents and fellows. Contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork and quality improvement efforts. Engage in academic activity including teaching and scholarly work.
