About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. This is a direct-hire authority. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
- Perform circulating roles of a perioperative nurse.
- Ensure sterile technique and anticipates the surgical team's needs.
- Provide direction and on-the-job training to military and civilian personnel, para-professionals, medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Function as a charge nurse of a particular shift, assuming the responsibility for promoting quality, cost-effective nursing care, within the framework of the medical treatment facility (MTF) philosophy and mission objectives.
- Collaborate with surgeons in one or more surgical services to assess, coordinate, plan, and implement the newest approaches and practices.
