Registered Nurse - Specialty Care Outpatient Staff

James A Haley Veterans hospital and clinics are looking for an energetic Registered Nurse for our Specialty Care Clinics. In the specialty outpatient clinics, the RN assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. The providers evaluate patients while the nurse is expected to provide education, coordination, and/or treatment regarding the services rendered.

• Duties listed but not limited to: Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal specialty care. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. Responsible for participating in activities supporting nursing excellence, quality improvement and unit-based and/or organizational-level shared governance councils. The nurse will demonstrate the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities. The nurse demonstrates competence in specialty care practices and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex specialty care. This nurse provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for specialty care outpatients. Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement. Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality specialty nursing care. Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic, specialty care through collaborative strategies with others. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations. Partners with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. Supports colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality specialty nursing care. Responsible for the documented outcomes at the specialty care program or service level. Specialty care program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility. Responsible for participating in activities supporting nursing excellence, quality improvement and unit based and/or organizational level Shared Governance councils. Accountable for utilizing clinical expertise and evidence-based practice to find innovative approaches to address concerns to improve the quality care provided to our veterans.
