About the Position: This position is located in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center. The incumbent will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to all critically ill patients, but primarily to critically-ill pediatric patients (3 days old to 18 years of age). A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

  • Assist physicians with complex or potentially life-threatening procedures, such as, cardioversion and insertion of invasive lines, e.g., arterial, venous, and pulmonary artery catheters.
  • Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, etc. (including intravenous push) routes.
  • Perform various pulmonary ventilation treatments, such as administration of oxygen and compressed air through various means.
  • Monitor patients' condition through continuous observation and precise calculation of fluid levels and vital signs.
  • Evaluate nursing interventions based on patients' response and revises nursing care plan accordingly.
