About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center located at Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available.

  • Continuously observe, monitor, and assess infant's condition; interpret signs and symptoms of deterioration in condition; and take corrective action.
  • Assist the physician with complex and potentially life-threatening procedures such as insertion of arterial and venous catheters, chest tubes and endotracheal tubes.
  • Prepare and accompany infants for diagnostic surgical procedures outside of NICU as well as prepare critically ill infants for transport by ground or air-evacuation.
  • Administer intravenous fluids including hyper alimentation, intralipids, and blood products; and deliver prescribed nutrition by oral, gavage, enteral drip or intravenous routes.
  • Operate and monitor technical equipment, such as transcutaneous oxygen monitors, oximeters, ventilators, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, defibrillator, radiant warmers, GE monitor, iSTAT Blood Testing machine, and blood warmers.
