The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical/License Vocational Nurse (LPN) is to perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the Veteran.

Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical protocols and scope of practice. Support providers and RNs in patient assessments by gathering health histories and documenting observations.- Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation. Participate in patient and family education by reinforcing teaching plans developed by RNs or providers. Ensure infection control and safety procedures are followed in all clinical areas. Respond to patient needs promptly and escalate concerns as appropriate. Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support effective patient care delivery. Contribute to quality improvement activities, audits, and compliance tasks. Participate in emergency responses within the unit according to training and protocol.
