This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. - This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Applicants will be referred on an 'as needed' basis every 8-10 days. The Registered Nurse (RN) - Community Living Center (CLC) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care in their assigned unit. The incumbent assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. The RN - CLC is also responsible for the following duties: Providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned residents. Providing oversight of licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. Assisting in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Demonstrating leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Providing peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Fostering a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributing professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Partnering with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. Supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care. Sharing educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers. Questioning clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Participating in activities and strategies to sustain evidence-based-practice. Collaborating with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) coordinator to ensure documentation is accurate and reflective of the Resource Utilization Group (RUG) score. Other duties, as assigned.
