VA NWIHCS is an integrated system that serves more than 56,000 Veterans in 99 counties in Nebraska, western Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. In this role, you will provide comprehensive surgical care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver high-quality surgical services, contribute to process improvements, and help ensure the best possible outcomes for those who have served our country. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled surgeon committed to excellence in patient care, and a strong sense of service to our Veteran population. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Evaluate patients in the outpatient, inpatient, emergency and perioperative settings. Perform operative and bedside procedures within granted privileges. Provide perioperative management and follow-up care. Determine surgical indications and appropriate treatment plans. Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and medications. Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care. Supervise and collaborate with residents, Advanced Practice Providers, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical record documentation within CPRS/Cerner in accordance with VHA policy. Participate in surgical call coverage as assigned. Practice within approved privileges at all times unless necessitated by emergency circumstances. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:00am - 4:30pm
