Psychiatric ED Clinician

The Psychiatric ED clinician is an independently licensed BH professional specializing in comprehensive behavioral health assessment, crisis stabilization, diagnostic formulation, suicide and violence risk assessment, interdisciplinary consultation, treatment planning, and disposition of patients experiencing psychiatric, behavioral, cognitive, and substance-related emergencies across the lifespan. Practicing within the Emergency Department, this clinician functions as an autonomous member of the interdisciplinary emergency medicine team and utilizes advanced clinical judgment, evidence-based assessment, trauma-informed care, and collaborative decision-making to ensure safe, timely and patient-centered care. In this capacity, the Psychiatric ED Clinician serves as the behavioral health consultant to Emergency Medicine physicians, Psychiatry, Nursing, EMS, Security, law enforcement, community providers, patients, and families regarding psychiatric assessment, behavioral management, crisis intervention, and planning.

• One year of experience administering emergency psychiatric assessments in BH care or similar setting.

• Master's degree in social work, counseling or psychology required

• LICLM - Independent licensure as a licensed independent social worker (LICSW) or licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) LICSW or LMHC in Massachusetts required
• CRISISINT - Hospital approved de-escalation training - Crisis intervention (MOAB) training required within 1 month of hire.

• Proven ability in developing biopsychosocial case formulations, advanced clinical reasoning, independent decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Experience with conducting suicide and violence risk assessments.
• Knowledgeable re: evidence-based practice and trauma-informed care
• Qualified candidates must demonstrate evidence of clinical and personal growth.
• Ability to work from a remote unsupervised location.
