Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our Emergency Department team in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.
This is an exciting opportunity to practice full-scope emergency medicine in our newly opened, state-of-the-art Emergency Department, designed to enhance patient care and provider workflow. With approximately 15,000 annual visits, our ED offers an ideal balance of acuity, autonomy, and collaboration. You'll work alongside experienced Emergency Medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff in a team-focused environment committed to exceptional patient care.
About This Role
As an Emergency Medicine Physician at NVRH, you will provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and stabilizing a wide range of medical and traumatic conditions. You'll practice broad-spectrum emergency medicine with access to specialty consultation services including:
- General Surgery
- Pulmonology
- Pediatrics
- Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)
- Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions across the lifespan.
- Coordinate care plans, consultations, admissions, transfers, and follow-up services.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Current Vermont Medical License or ability to obtain licensure
- Current Vermont DEA certificate or ability to obtain
- Malpractice insurability required
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care
