About the Position: This position is located in Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Position is for a Senior Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), who performs advanced, complex research evaluation of new imaging methods and techniques utilizing MRI principles. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is a term/ time limited position appointment and may be extended to a maximum of 8 years. This position is obligated.
- Technologist works independently performing routine, emergent, and specialized procedures with responsibility for protocols, patient care, and magnet safety.
- Receives and reviews requests from physicians and other health care providers for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of patients.
- Determines the condition(s) at issue and the procedures and equipment necessary to best meet the needs of the individual case.
- Receives and positions patient for examination.
- Explains procedures and actions to allay fears and secure maximum cooperation of patients, family members, and non-MRI staff.
