Example: This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Waccamaw Center for Mental Health,164 Waccamaw Medical Park Dr, Conway, SC 29526.As the Mental Health Profession I, working under limited supervision, you will provide therapeutic services, particularly as a specialist for outpatient services Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, Clinicians will see Child & Adolescent patients. In addition, you will provide counseling and case management dealing with situations encompassing interpersonal, health and psychosocial factors. Provide after-hours emergency services as directed by the Conway Clinic Director and/or Assistant Clinic Director.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:
- Provide therapy, emergency services and case management services to person experiences emotional disturbances, including assessments, crisis intervention, individual group and family therapy, patient and family education and home visit as needed.
- Provide counseling service to clients of the WCMH on a full-time basis (37.5hrs/week).
- Maintain an average bill time of direct service hours to 854 hours annualized hours annually.
- Maintain documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, local, OMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards.
- Provide a variety of coordination and consultation services with the school, community agencies, and OMH staff.
- Educate the community through workshops and presentations about mental health issues.
- A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
- (1) One year of experience in a clinical counseling program.
- Must be able to provide after-hours emergency services as directed by the Assistant Clinic Director.
- Provide a valid driver's license and a 10-year driving record.
- Must be able to hear at normal volumes, stand, walk reach, pull, stoop, and bend.
- Ability to lift (40) pounds and climb 2 flights of stairs.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language a plus).
- Must be able to meet OMH credentialing requirements.
- Ability to provide thorough knowledge of the range and scope of services provided in a comprehensive mental health program serving adults, children and families and the unique treatment needs of this special population.
- Ability to integrate and coordinate services with those of other disciplines and to communicate effectively.
- Must have the ability to perform case management, interviewing and assessment skills.
- Participate in on going in-service training and other educational opportunities in order to maintain/or acquire necessary skills.
- Must demonstrate expertise level regards to handling challenging caseload.
