As a Registered Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, PACS Administrator (DRT) (R) GS-11 level, incumbent provides support and trouble shoots system application issues and instructs users in the proper operation of digital image processing, storage, and display system. The technologist performs Vista Radiology, Vista imaging, and PACS support activities and general ADPAC duties including user access control.

The technologist provides oversight of hardware relating to PACS display workstations, applications, speech recognition hardware, and other medical imaging hardware. The technologist provides training to radiologists, technologists, and other clients in the proper and efficient use of imaging hardware and software in the integrated PACS and Vista imaging systems. The PACS technologist also provides oversight and support of PACS display workstations, interfaces, secondary applications, speech recognition and other hardware that is critical to the department efficiency and throughput, throughout the facility and service lines, to include but not limited to radiology, dental, cardiology, and optometry. The technologist provides instruction and guidance in the daily operation of the ancillary systems such as: speech recognition dictation, dose reporting systems, contrast reporting systems, etc. The incumbent will function as a DRT which includes complex modalities such as CT, MR, ultrasound, and/or IR. Provide support and troubleshoot system application and hardware issues and instruct users in the proper operation of digital image processing, storage and display systems. Efficiently and effectively train all user levels in the efficient use of imaging hardware and software of the integrated PACS system. Perform administrative functions such as oversight of RIS (Hospital Information System/Radiology Information System) links necessary to interface with the HIS (Hospital Information System), individual and user group creation, and access management, system filters, exam code dictionaries, DICOM configuration testing and corrections. Oversee the addition of new imaging and clinical equipment to the network and tests and assures set up and function while working with Biomed and IT departments. Responsible for all tasks related to unspecified exams from outside imaging including importing, viewing, naming images, and merging into patient charts in a timely matter to not affect patient care. Ensuring all imaging provided for Tumor board is loaded into the PACS system. Daily observation and cleanup of systems for incomplete exams as well as reporting to Radiology Program Manager Merging of exams/images or removal of images as requested to correct exams.
