This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

• Patient Care-addresses medical problems, practices within scope of privileges, arrives in medical inpatient wards on time. Attends daily rounds and huddles for improved patient care. Medical/Clinical Knowledge-Maintains Internal Medicine board certification (if board certified), meets CME requirements, and participates in resident/student training Practice Based Learning & Improvement- Participates in work groups, peer review processes and committees, and/or departmental learning activities, and remains abreast of medical advances in his/her area of expertise and incorporates this information to deliver care that meets contemporary standards of care. Interpersonal & Communication Skills- Electronic medical record entries are appropriate and in accordance to VHA directive. Provides appropriate consultative evaluation, treatment, and/or follow-up recommendations. Professionalism- communicates with colleagues and other employees and patients with high degree of professionalism, displays empathy towards patients, and avoids any disruptive or unprofessional Behavior. Complies with all facility and VA directives for impatient Medicine and care of the Veterans. Systems-Based Practice-Complies with safety, security, and privacy policies, assures proper warm hand off of patients, assures medication reconciliation, remains compliant with medical records documentation, notifies about planned absences as early as possible in beginning of the year preferably to assure proper coverage and overall complies with hand-off communication policy. Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, Monday-Friday- 8:00am-7:00pm,Saturday-Sunday- 7:00am-6:00pm VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
