This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. • William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran Hospital is a Level 1B major interdisciplinary teaching facility with service lines serving medical, surgical and neurological inpatients and outpatients with an Emergency Department and multiple community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). The main facility is an 87 bed, highly affiliated acute care teaching facility that providers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient tertiary care in medicine, surgery adn transplant care, neurology and psychiatry. Manages chronic conditions, evaluates and treats inter-current medical conditions Collaborates with a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) to provide accessible, comprehensive, coordinated, continuous care to an assigned panel of patients Performs a variety of disease prevention related activities including gender and age specific screenings, mental health screenings, and health promotion activities. Screens for, evaluates and treats uncomplicated common mental health disorders, including depression and common addictions, with referrals made to mental health providers for further evaluation and treatment as appropriate Primary care physicians will have responsibility for supervision of or collaboration with primary care mid-level providers Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and to participate in peer review of other primary care providers through periodic chart reviews Primary care physicians will act as surrogates for absent primary care providers when needed, to include review of CPRS view alerts Primary care physicians will regular attend primary care staff meetings, departmental meetings and medical staff meetings Timely documentation (notes and encounter forms) is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policy. All administrative work should be completed in a timely fashion Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically appropriate. Quality of care should meet professional standards at all times. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday , Day Shift - TBD with service based on clinic operations and need; Occasional Saturday. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
