About the Position: Work conducted in a small, environmentally controlled outpatient clinic (Ireland Army Health Clinic, Bldg. 871, 200 Brule Street, Ft. Knox) laboratory. Eight hour shifts with 30 min. unpaid lunch (8.5 hrs. total) range from 0700 to 1700, Monday through Friday. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
- Serves as the Clinical Laboratory Scientist within the laboratory; responsible for planning, overseeing, and performing all clinical laboratory testing; plans work and delegates assignments for personnel.
- Develops and recommends quality control procedures, evaluates new test methods, maintains standard operating procedures, and ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; recognizes and solves quality assurance problems.
- Oversees daily learning activities, training civilian and military staff and trainees; evaluates performance and competency, and provides technical direction and in-service training.
- Maintains medical supplies, monitors cost-containment measures, and assists with budgeting and contracting for supplies and services.
