The Primary Care PACT and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Physician provides a hybrid role, delivering comprehensive primary care services within the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model for 40% of their time and specialized medical care for patients with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) for 60% of their time. This role involves a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring optimal outcomes for a diverse veteran population.

Conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and manage chronic illnesses. Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and their families to ensure they are informed and involved in the care process. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education about SCI/D, treatment options, and prognosis. Advocate for the needs and rights of SCI/D patients within the healthcare system. Prescribe medications, therapies, and assistive devices, ensuring appropriate management of spasticity, pain, bladder and bowel function, and other related conditions.
