  • Provide individual & group counseling.

  • Conduct program specific lectures.

  • Provide case management services.

  • Conduct drug testing as required.

  • Provide discharge/aftercare planning referral services for successful community reintegration (employment, vocational rehabilitation, housing, etc).

  •  Assists other peer supports.

  •  Assist with implementation of treatment plans in collaboration with client to reach desired treatment outcomes and intervention strategies.

  • Complete assigned monthly reports.

  •  Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment team for purposes of program evaluation development & case management consultation.

  •  Maintain clinical documentation on all clients & all services provided from intake to discharge.

  • Ensure clients’ confidentiality & clients' rights are maintained.

  • Participate in staff meetings and attend training as required.                          

    Position is located at Watkins Mental Health.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

A high school diploma and relevant human services or social services experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required experience.


SCDC Minimum Requirements: 

A high school diploma or GED and relevant human services or social services experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required experience.

Must be credentialed as a certified peer support specialist (CPSS) through Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC).
