This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Some non-invasive and invasive respiratory procedures (as detailed below) are performed. This position focuses mostly on critical care medicine.Duties and Responsibilities: Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the Inpatient and Outpatient pulmonology clinic; as well as provide feedback and consultation with the other services within the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Provide care in the Intensive Care Unit to Medical and Surgical Critical Care Patients. The Physician will obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients. The pulmonologist/intensivist will coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. The pulmonologist/intensivist will perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE). Provide on-call services as assigned.
