About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment
- Develop treatment and rehabilitation plans and provides appropriate therapeutic treatment services.
- Serve as a recognized technical authority in the delivery of Psychiatric medical care to a wide demographic and large variety of psychiatric patient presentations, symptoms, conditions, and complexities.
- Identify patient treatment needs and arrange for a safe therapeutic outcome.
- Provide timely communication to patient’s Command on mental health issues where disclosure is required per Department of Defense Instructions.
- Participate in hospital approved mental health training programs.
