POSITION: PT Limited Term Community Health Workers (2)
LOCATION: Red Cliff Community Health Center
WAGE: $17.00 per hour, 28 hrs./week
SUPERVISOR: Community Health Department Supervisor
THIS IS A LIMITED TERM NON-EXEMPT POSITION. APPLICANTS WILL BE SELECTED FROM THE INFORMATION SUPPLIED ON APPLICATION FORM ONLY. THERE WILL BE NO INTERVIEWS.
JOB SUMMARY: Assist with various Red Cliff Health Division projects. The goal of this internship is to provide exposure to a wide variety of health activities so the student may gain a better understanding of rural, Tribal community healthcare.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in Community Health activities as needed, including and not limited to collecting Community Health Assessment data, and assisting with the execution of our Community Health Improvement Plan.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard the privacy of patients in common areas of the clinic.
- Attend staff and other meetings, in-services, and other events as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe physical environment. Alert administration and/or Health Center staff to problems and difficulties, as circumstances may warrant.

The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Organization skills and attention to detail.
- Computer skills; data entry, Excel program, Word, Publisher.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license and at least liability insurance; preferred.
Indian preference will be applied in the case of equally qualified applicants, but all qualified applicants will be considered. Preference will be given to Red Cliff youth, but other enrolled tribal members will also be considered in the case of equally qualified candidates. PERSONAL CONTACTS: Considerable daily contact will be made with the general public, tribal leadership, Program Directors and staff, consultant(s), and the Tribal Community.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties assigned to this position involve standing for periods of time, bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying. Items may be placed in overhead storage or shelving.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Red Cliff Community Health Center; office and clinic settings. Exposure to hazards of the health care industry. All Tribal Buildings are smoke free.
