This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • Duties are as follows: Knowledge of the full range of psychological services to include psychological assessment, diagnostic, and evidence-based treatment services. Ability to provide professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health. Ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and with varying levels of understanding. Knowledge of most current clinical assessment and psychotherapy research literature as it pertains to areas of specialization and clinical privileges. Implements and monitors infection control practices for disease prevention (i.e. handwashing, universal precautions/isolation procedures, including TB requirement/precautions. Implements and monitors OSHA goals for Life Safety Management, health, and theenvironment procedures. The incumbent will annually complete Prevention and Management of DisruptiveBehavioral (PMDB) training as assigned. Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with theprovisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VAstatutes and policy, and VHA policy. Consistently communicates and treats customers (veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VAstaff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic and psychotherapy services and uses the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. Performs psychological evaluations for patients on units to which the psychologist is assigned to provide coverage. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions to units/programs in the Medical Center to which the psychologist is assigned and has clinical privileges to practice including individual psychotherapy and/or counseling, vocational counseling, group therapy, family therapy and/or counseling, crisis intervention, administration and interpretation of psychometric tests (objective), administration and interpretation of psychometric tests (projective), program evaluation, psychological research, and consultation.
